Zymurgist Borealis Septemberfest 2005 meeting

I believe this year's Septemberfest meeting had the lowest turn out ever (only three people counting me). Of course, this was somewhat understandable since we also had some of the most unpleasant weather as well. In the past we have had rain and even snow which is bad enough but this year we had a cold rain driven by strong winds. Burrrr....

Tim shows that we had to two main ingredients for a successful Septemberfest - carbonized sausage (in this case kielbasa) and beer.
Clif and Tim show that we did indeed have beer. In this case, Stone Brewing's smoked porter and Clif's very nice homebrewed porter. Unlike me, Clif actually had some fine homebrew to sample. Thank you, Clif!! I, on the other hand, just let me fingers do the shopping and purchased some beer. How embarassing....
I brought some Guinness Stout and Bass Pale Ale and made Black & Tans with my new toy, the Lagerhead Black & Tan Turtle. Great name, by the way, or as the Guinness guys would say, "Brilliant!"
Despite the relatively small glass size the black & tans came out pretty well.
